Senator Alexander: Research universities critical to nation's future

Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) has a unique set of qualifications to provide this thoughtful speech on the importance of research universities to the nation. Prior to becoming a U.S. Senator, Alexander served as the secretary of education, governor of Tennessee and president of the University of Tennessee. KU will be engaged in the efforts identified by Senator Alexander in his remarks.
