President's 2010 budget contains new opportunities for research funding
The details of President Barack Obama's first budget were issued this week and will serve as a guide for the annual budget process involving Congress and the White House. The budget will provide guidance for setting spending levels for agencies throughout the federal government, including several that provide funding for research universities.
One potential area for new research resources is the Department of Energy. The Association of American Universities has created a summary of the DOE budget, which could give faculty and students ideas about potential grant and fellowship opportunities in 2010.
